Roof reinforcements

Apart from the main structure of the bodyside, the roof reinforcement is composed of several smaller components aiming at increasing the sitffness of the area, and at mounting the different components attached to the roof. The key characteristics of these components will thus be the location of their fixation holes and their shape, as they will affect the fitting of the different components of the car mounted in this area.

Our checking fixtures are produced in aluminium, the components submitted to wear-and-tear are produced in steel. Tolerances for RPS (fixation points) and dial indicator points: ±0.05mm. Tolerances for simulation blocks: ±0.1mm.

Minimum documentation: dimensional report of your checking fixture, 2D assembly drawing, assembly CAD. Optional documentation: R&R report, user manual, stabilization certificate.

To measure all the dial indicator points of this fixture and write the measured values manually, the user will need next to 5mn with a high risk of transcription of measurement errors. These errors can be prevented by using a CAPTOR-S kit or adapting CAPTOR-C to this fixture; apart from suppressing any risk of error during the measurement, these systems also decrease the measurement time (including the saving of the measurements into CAPTOR software) to about 20 seconds.

Checking fixture for roof reinforcement components left/right
  • Separate fixtures for the left and right parts
  • Fastening of the part by clamps and centring pins
  • Control of the location of the part main holes by control pins
  • Control of the presence of the part secondary holes by fixed rods
  • Control of the part upper deformation by dial indicator
