Rear-View Mirror Assembly

Our checking fixtures for rear-view mirror assembly fixtures simulate the door environment of the part, its fastening, and can control the parts by measuring instruments and/or Go/No Go controls, depending on our customers’ technical specifications.

Our checking fixtures are produced in aluminium, the components submitted to wear-and-tear are produced in steel. Tolerances for RPS (fixation points) and dial indicator points: ±0.05mm. Tolerances for simulation blocks: ±0.1mm.

Minimum documentation: dimensional report of your checking fixture, 2D assembly drawing, assembly CAD. Optional documentation: R&R report, user manual, stabilization certificate.

Rear-view mirror assembly fixtures are usually equipped with several dial indicator points. The higher the number of control points, the longer the measurement process is. Think about automating the measurement process by resorting to solutions like CAPTOR-S or CAPTOR-C.

Rear-view mirror assembly checking fixture
  • Aluminium base plate
  • Simulation of the door bodyside
  • Fastening by screws. Optional: delivery of a torque wrench, enabling to fasten all the screws with the same force, in order to ensure a repeatable mounting of the mirror.
  • Simulation of the door rubber gaskets, or simulation of the door ribs enabling to mount the real rubber gaskets.
  • Control of the outline of the part by a simulation block with a gap controlled by Go/No Go pin.
  • Control of the part deformation by dial indicator.
Rear-view mirror assembly flush checking fixture
  • Aluminium base plate
  • Control of the flush of the mirror skull cap by dial indicator, to ensure a proper mounting of the mirror glass.

Rear-view mirror foot master simulation
  • When delivering rear-view mirrors to OEMs, automotive part manufacturers are sometimes faced with a problem: when testing to mount a mirror on the OEM’s door, the part cannot be mounted properly. Which part is the wrong one: the door, or the rear-view mirror?
  • To solve this problem, we propose to our customers a master simulation of their mirror foot.
  • This master is a complement of our rear-view mirror assembly fixtures: in case of any doubt about the conformity of your parts, your mirror foot master will provide to your customer the proof of the conformity of your parts.
