Air duct

Plastic air ducts are deformable parts, but its shape must be OK to ensure a correct fitting of the part on the car. The difficulty in checking these parts in a proper and user-friendly way is basically finding a fastening system enabling to hold the part without deforming it.

Our checking fixtures are produced in aluminium, the components submitted to wear-and-tear are produced in steel. Tolerances for RPS (fixation points) and dial indicator points: ±0.05mm. Tolerances for simulation blocks: ±0.1mm.

Minimum documentation: dimensional report of your checking fixture, 2D assembly drawing, assembly CAD. Optional documentation: R&R report, user manual, stabilization certificate.

Passenger Side Air Duct
  • Aim: fasten a highly deformable part for its mass-production check
  • Centring by car-environment simulation blocks
  • Fastening of the part by its datums by clamps and support points
  • Check of the shape of the inlet holes by Go/No Go gauge
  • Check of the gap by Go/No Go gauge
  • Check of thickness of the part by Go/No Go gauge
Driver Side Air Duct
  • Aim: fasten a highly deformable part for its mass-production check
  • Centring by car-environment simulation blocks
  • Check of the part extremities by car-environment simulation blocks
  • Check of the inlet and outlet holes by Go/No Go gauges
  • Fastening by clamps and support blocks on the part datums
  • Check of the part thickness by Go/No Go gauge
  • Check of the gap by Go/No Go gauge
