Gear lever housing trim

Although a relatively simple part, the outline of gear lever housing trims is crucial as part of the visible parts of the gear lever assembly.

Our checking fixtures are produced in aluminium, the components submitted to wear-and-tear are produced in steel. Tolerances for RPS (fixation points) and dial indicator points: ±0.05mm. Tolerances for simulation blocks: ±0.1mm.

Minimum documentation: dimensional report of your checking fixture, 2D assembly drawing, assembly CAD. Optional documentation: R&R report, user manual, stabilization certificate.

The automated probes can be easily replaced by dial indicator points measured with CAPTOR-S system. In order to prevent any confusion during the measurement process, this system can be complemented by CAPTOR-C detection technology.

Automated fixture for gear lever housing trim
  • Positioning of the part by centring blocks and clamps
  • Control of the deformation of the outline of the part by automated probes: all the probes are connected and activated simulatenously by pressing one button.
  • The values measured are automatically sent to a data acquisition PC storing the values and indicating to the user if they are within or out of tolerance according to the control tolerances defined in the measurement programme.
